A Framework for Dynamic Redefinition of the Genetic Algorithm

چکیده

The efficiency of the GA is highly dependent on the chosen encoding and genetic operators. In this note we present a theoretical (but applicable) framework for dynamic recoding of the GA search space as well as for the redefinition of the operators, in particular crossover, acting on it. One of our basic tools consists of embedding finite search spaces into infinite ones (both infinite populations and infinite length strings are allowed), and providing the means of exchanging information between them.
